ReCovering Peace for Men

Scott works with men one on one to understand how they have gotten to the place they have in their life and in their sexuality and then what to do about it.  With compassion, care ,and encouragement he leads men out of the false self and into the beginnings of living in their true God given identity. 

 

Recovery from lust and sexual issues is best done with slow recovery, so there is a strong focus on slow healing.  In order for mindsets and habits must be renewed, lifelong lies and unhealthy behaviors need to be identified.  Growing in truth and emotional strength takes time.  It took a lot of time to get to where you are and it will take a lot of time to change mindsets and beliefs to come into line with God's truth. 

 

The quality of life for the rest of your life is worth the time and the investment.  We have found that if a man does the work, the program works.  However, the mind can only renew so quickly and character forms at a steady and even pace.  We have yet to see anyone experience a miracle character change.

Getting sober is one thing becoming mature and growing out of abusive patterns is another. Sexual recovery and healing is so much more than getting sober and not struggling or not acting out.  Full recovery and healing is about becoming fully relational.  When a man is married it's about building the capacity to fully connect and be fully relational with his wife on an emotional, intellectual, spiritual and phyiscal levels.  

Men are not created to be non-feeling and non-emotional.  When a man gets to that place it's a very dangerous place to be.
